Thirty years ago, WONDERboom kicked down the door of the South African alternative scene - and somehow, three decades later, the ears are still ringing, the attitude is still dripping, and the electricity still hangs in the air.
This festival isn’t a farewell. It’s a celebration of survival, sound, and relentless groove.
To mark 30 years in the industry, WONDERboom are hosting a once-in-a-lifetime live experience, sharing the stage with friends they’ve collided with, toured with, and torn stages apart with over the last three decades. One band per decade. Three eras. One night of history coming alive at full volume.
As frontman Cito puts it:
“Thirty years of WONDERBOOM and I'm done counting. Time has been wild. It seems to move fast and doesn’t care. But somehow we’re still here, still shaking our asses, still making songs that mean something to us. None of this matters, though, without new music, without pushing this roller-coaster forward. Massive love to everyone who’s ridden with us through every scene and every left turn unstoned. The live shows are still the drug - those seconds before we hit the stage, the nerves, the chaos, the sweat, that moment when the room lights up and the crowd sings back. After all this time, it still feels hazardous in the best possible way. If it never ends, perfect. If it does? I can't complain.”
