Women’s workshop for those 15 years old and older. Tickets are $35 per person. Extra family members are $15.

For ages 15 and above.

The workshop is composed of TWO PARTS:

In the first session from 2:30 - 3:30 pm we will discuss awareness, intuition-based self-protection, bystander response, and preventative techniques. There will be a 15 minute break. The last session is from 3:45 -5:00 pm and will go over all physical self-defense techniques.

April Noss is a 4th degree black belt in traditional Japanese karate, as well as an ikkyu in yamanni-ryu Okinawan weapons, and a yoga practitioner (200 ryt). She is owner and primary instructor at Sarasota Karate Club. April has been practicing martial arts for 30 years and has trained worldwide. In her twenty years specifically teaching self-protection, she has taught in schools, Girl Scouts, Girls, inc, and volunteered her services in the local community as well as internationally. Her expertise includes physical self-defense techniques against attacks, understanding, communicating, and teaching the fundamentals of self-protection, connecting and implementing intuition, and helping women find empowerment.

Dawn Eyestone is a 2nd degree black belt in traditional Japanese karate and has been practicing since 2003. In her professional position as a college instructor, she has over a decade of experience teaching adults, and she has participated in numerous women’s self-protection workshops and self-defense training classes. In addition to karate, she has studied other martial arts including Tae Kwon Do and U.S. Army combatives.
