Join us for an enriching Women’s Retreat featuring a bible study led by Mrs. Billie Cook, engaging workshops to strengthen your relationships, a dynamic panel on Aging Gracefully, and a powerful word from guest speaker Rev. Dr. Karen Bethea. Registration is $40 per day and includes continental breakfast and lunch.
Or, take advantage of the special package — $75 for both the Women’s Retreat (breakfast, lunch, all sessions, workshops, and panels) and the Candle Making experience at Savage Mill.
The Prayer Room is back! It will be open all day Saturday and Sunday. There will also be prayer warriors available all day on Saturday for those who need intercessory prayer.

Workshop 1a: Still Single or Suddenly Single? Discerning God's Plan: Whether you’ve never married or find yourself single again after divorce or loss, this workshop offers a sacred space to explore what it means to wait on God with hope, purpose, and peace. It’s not just about enduring singleness—it’s about embracing it as a season of divine invitation. Facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Kaiya Jennings, Assistant Pastor at St. John Baptist Church.
Workshop 1b: Covenant & Connection: Navigating the Modern Day Christian Marriage: This workshop invites couples to rediscover the sacred covenant of marriage through the lens of Scripture, grace, and intentional connection. Whether newlyweds, seasoned partners, or those navigating challenges, it’s a space to deepen intimacy, renew commitment, and align your relationship with God’s design. Facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Marlene Mitchell, a seasoned minister, preacher, and pastoral counselor with a deep passion for strengthening Christian marriages. She serves as the Senior Pastor of Falls Road AME Church located in Windsor Mills, MD.
Workshop 2: Still Single or Suddenly Single? Discerning God's Plan: Aging Gracefully (Panel Discussion): Aging isn’t something to fear—it’s something to embrace. Aging Gracefully brings together a vibrant panel of experts to explore how women can thrive physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they age. With insights from a fitness expert, a gynecologist, and an esthetician, this conversation offers a holistic look at how to care for the body, honor its changes, and cultivate beauty from the inside out.
Panelists include:
- Mr. David Girton – Fitness expert and founder of LiveNow Fitness in Elkridge, Maryland.
- Dr. Kimberly M. Turner, MD – Obstetrician-gynecologist with over 30 years of experience and First Lady of St. John Baptist Church.
- Ms. Shelby Cooper – Licensed esthetician and skincare educator known as “Your At-Home Estie.”
