Women's Wisdom, then & now

Our International Women’s Day event, Women’s Wisdom, then and now, will be a space to honour the women who have come before us and learn from their wisdom. It will also be an opportunity for women now to gather and share their wisdom and experiences with each other in a space that is warm and welcoming.

The event will start with a short reception before moving on to women sharing their collective wisdom in a world cafe style format. There will be six tables, each dedicated to a feminist gone before us, that will cover a different topic. Women will have the opportunity to share their lived experiences, thoughts, feelings and insight on areas that matter to them. It will also be a space to learn about the work and legacy of feminists who have made a mark in that area. Each table will have its own facilitator to ensure the women participating are heard. With permission, the information gathered will be used to help shape the work of the Women’s Collective going forward, as well as, informing future research and submissions. This section will last one hour. Women are free to move to all tables or stick to particular areas of interest.

Then we will see guest speaker, life coach, Gráinne Carr, impart her wisdom. Using her knowledge and skills she will cover topics and share techniques leaving women feeling grounded and empowered.

Gráinne Carr is an experienced Coach, Trainer and Facilitator, and is a founder of Consent Matters Ireland – an organisation whose vision is to make society safer through consent education. Gráinne’s focus is on supporting people to develop their consensual confidence; to give themselves permission to set good boundaries and to confidently ask for what they want, so that we can all create and maintain healthy relationships.

The event will also include a raffle, tickets can be purchased on the night.
