About this Event
A growing awareness exists around the impacts of gender medical bias on women’s access to quality and equitable health care.
ANMF (Vic Branch) has developed this special event following the Victoria State Government’s 2024 Inquiry into Women’s Pain. The forum will welcome ANMF members as well as government and healthcare representatives working in women’s health to explore women’s experiences of pain – both from the perspective of women receiving healthcare, and from the professional perspective of nurses and midwives.
The aim of this event is to further examine the connection between gender bias and the impact on women’s experience of – and access to – the diagnosis and management of pain-related illnesses. It will also analyse the impact of this bias on women’s access to healthcare related to other health conditions, for example cardiac conditions.
