About this Event
ALAA Early Career Academic Forum
EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION EXTENDED UNTIL 31 OCTOBER 2024 at 11.30pm.
Welcome to the ALAA Early Career Academic Forum!
The 3rd Early Career Academic Forum is an opportunity for early career legal academics across Australia to come together, learn together, speak together and eat together in an intimate, informal and collegiate environment.
After two amazing years hosted by Monash University, this year, the event is being co-hosted by La Trobe University and RMIT University, with generous sponsorship from Monash University. The theme for this year’s Forum is ‘the unwritten rules of academia’ and this will weave through all of the sessions throughout the day.
We’ll start with a Keynote from Professor Shelley Marshall from RMIT talking about, you guessed it, the unwritten rules of academia before breaking off into three main sessions which consider the theme in the research context, in teaching, and from an overall career perspective.
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided throughout the day and we’ll finish up with canapes and drinks to celebrate the end of the Forum (and, for some, the end of the teaching year).
Places at the forum are capped, and first-come, first-served. Attendance is in person only. We sold out last year, and expect the same this year - so make sure you get in early! Registration includes all-day catering, and guaranteed* fun vibes (*we hope)!
