On June 12th at 6PM there will be a dedication of the newest monument at the Park. It is called "Salute to Military Women".In the planning is a booklet to honor and remember women who have served or are still serving that live in our area. If you have a relative or friend they can be featured in this booklet. For more information you can contact [email protected]. There is a scan code on the poster but I do not know if that will come through.
As one of the administrators I also have copies of the applications that I could mail to you/ It contains basic info . March 15th is the deadline.
Women have played an important part in our nations military history for over 200 years and until recently have never received the recognition that they have deserved. Now it is time to hear their stories and to make sure that their service and dedication is not forgotten. Since I posted on my own Facebook page yesterday, I have received 4 replies from women who would like to be included. Are you interested. Let us know.
