Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women in America! Join LIWH for this informative workshop on the importance of heart and health. Covering topics such as heart disease, blood pressure, your risks, prevention and more.
Black/African American and other communities of color have long been disproportionately affected by diabetes and hypertension. Despite healthcare professionals recommending weight loss, reduced salt and sugar intake, and healthier lifestyles, individuals are often left without the necessary tools to implement these changes. Furthermore, there is a lack of education on what options are available to promote these changes.
Please join LIWH and our subject matter experts as we attempt to interrupt generational Diabetes and hypertension. These series of workshops will be taught with a cultural lense for and by people who look like you. Learn more about Heart Health, how and why you are at risk, but most importantly, what you can do to stop or prevent heart disease from happening to you.
$10 Registration Fee covers materials and supplies. Class Valued at $250
Our facilitators: Beverly Chambers BSN, RN
