About this Event
Join the Commission on the Status of Women at the annual Women's Equality Day Event. This year we will hear from powerful changemakers, highlight local women owned vendors and recognize impactful local justice advocacy organizations.
Women's Equality Day (officially designated on August 26,1971), commemorates the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the denial of the right to vote on the basis of sex.
This year, marks 104 years of the passing of the nineteenth amendment, and this fall around the nation, we will see things on the ballot that affect women’s health, women’s safety and women’s freedom.
The time is now to get everyone, but especially women to the polls.
