About this Event
Women's Equality Day commemorates the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment, which secured women's right to vote in 1920. The Santa Clara County Commission on the Status of Women celebrates this milestone annually, but this year's event takes a profoundly different approach.
In 2025, we recognize that true equality cannot be achieved in isolation—it requires community care, collective power, and shared purpose. Our theme "Rooted in Community, We Rise Together" embodies our belief that supporting each other is how we create lasting change for women and girls in Santa Clara County.
NEW FOR 2025: To truly live our values of accessibility and community care, this year's event will be FREE to all attendees. This bold step requires increased sponsorship support from community partners who share our vision of an inclusive event where all women can participate regardless of economic status.
The Commission on the Status of Women serves as an advisory body to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, working tirelessly to eliminate gender discrimination and promote equality. Your sponsorship directly supports our mini-grant program, which funds initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women and girls in our community.
