Unplug from the noise for a restorative session of shared rhythm and healing energy.
About this Event

It’s easy to become “uprooted” in the busyness of modern life. This Earth Day, gather with a supportive community of women to unplug from the noise and experience a restorative session of shared rhythm and healing energy.

This is a space for women of all ages to clear the mind and feel more grounded through the heartbeat of the frame drum, one of the oldest instruments in human history.

The Frame Drum:

For thousands of years, this simple drum [a wooden hoop with skin stretched over one side] was primarily a woman's instrument. In ancient cultures, it was used by women as the instrument of celebration and prayer to mark the changing of seasons and other natural cycles. A tool to harmonize with the earth and the rhythms of the natural world.

What to Expect:

  • A supportive and encouraging environment where you will learn basic strokes and rhythmic patterns on frame drum. No prior experience necessary.
  • Frame drums will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have one.

Event Details:

  • When: Friday, April 17, 2026, starting at 1pm
  • Where: Asian American Resource Center | 8401 Cameron Rd. Austin 78754 | We'll be in Classroom #8.

  • Cost: Free to attend, but space is limited. You must RSVP to attend to ensure we have enough drums for everyone.
