This Community-centered drumming experience is designed to empower women (and all those who identify with the feminine) through rhythm, connection, and learning. No experience is necessary. Limited drums and shakers are available for use, but you're encouraged to bring your own Djembe, Buffalo Drum, or shakers if you have them.
Each class will be a different focus, learning to play and weave rhythms together. Whether you're an experienced drummer or a total novice, this class offers an approachable and fun way to get comfortable easily creating rhythms with others.
Your facilitator is Sandra Katala. Sandra is a positive force for change and empowerment, providing every person who crosses her path with more insights into their body, mind, and spirit. Sandra is a Board Certified/Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Vibrational Sound Therapist, as well as sound therapy educator. She's been studying the drum since 2011. Her training in drumming covers a wide spectrum, including: Djembe, Buffalo Drum, Duns, Frame Drum and Trance drumming. What she's learned over the years is that there's always more to learn. She and her husband spent the last 14+ years soaking up many west coast Florida drum circles and she is excited to share her enthusiasm for drumming with other women. Since moving to Winston-Salem, Sandra has been searching for more opportunities to play rhythm in a cooperative environment.
