What is the Women 's Data Day?
Le Wagon Women's Data Day is a full morning of coding workshops dedicated to all women who want to gain data skills ?. If you are interested or know women who want to discover Data Science, this is the place!
Our team of female teachers will teach you the basics of data science to help you be more efficient in your day to day activities. Each month we'll introduce you to a new concept in Data Science, keep an eye out on our pages to not miss the next one! ?♀️
Schedule of the day
10:00am - Opening Keynote on the reality and why we are so few women in data science. Gender inequality in tech-related roles is unfortunately still a part of our reality ?♀️. In this opening note, we'll give you an overview of today's numbers, why we need a change and how you can actively be part of a change so that future generation of female coders!
10:30am - Workshop: Data Analytics with Python ??♀️. In this workshop, you will discover the basics of programming with Python and will be quickly immersed in the daily life of a Data Analyst through concrete business cases using datasets from the real world.
12:00pm - Onboarding on Le Wagon's Learn Platform ? . Discover our e-learning platform (Learn Platform), where you'll get a sum-up of key notions as well as exercises to keep practising after the workshop.
12:30pm - Q&A . Ask questions ? about our bootcamps, the workshop or anything else!
1:00pm - Final Goodbyes ?
Format ⚙️
Each workshop will start with a 1-hour lecture to introduce the core concepts. You will then be onboarded on Le Wagon e-learning platform (learn platform) and access a sum-up of key notions as well as exercises to keep practising after the workshop.
Pre-requisite ?
?Have your own laptop fully charged
?Install any modern web browser (Chrome, Safari, or Firefox)You don't need to pre-install any programming tools—you will be given access to an interactive programming environment that runs in a browser.
Some experience with Python is recommended for the Data Analytics workshop. Though basic programming concepts will be explained in an accessible hands-on manner.
