About this Event
The Women Who Lead Conference is a full-day event that centers women’s voices in brave spaces and creates an opportunity for intergenerational engagement. We invite the FIU and South Florida community to the event as we celebrate the accomplishments of women in different fields and provide practical tools for navigating the world as women.
Students have the opportunity to connect with faculty and staff across the university and the surrounding community. We have a student ambassador program that provides students with an opportunity for professional development, networking, and reflection.
Event Theme:
Unapologetically Fierce: Women Defying Gravity
This year’s theme celebrates women unapologetically using their voices to lead, challenge barriers, and inspire communities. The panel sessions will focus on how women today are shaping the future through course, creativity, and resilience. Also, we will highlight women who step into leadership authentically, embracing power and rejecting limiting norms. We are committed to elevating women as everyday heroines whose leadership transforms the world. In today's society, women continue to reimagine space and time to defy gravitational obstacles that seek to place a glass ceiling over our abilities. Women are boldly leading and creating space for the next generation of women, defying the odds.
Women Who Lead Conference seeks to:
- Enhance participants’ understanding & awareness about the scope of women in our society today.
- Provide participants with an opportunity to interact with & learn from women leaders in various career fields.
- Develop a greater understanding of career opportunities available in a variety of fields.
- Assist our participants in developing their leadership plans.
In its 19th annual iteration, the conference is an event with different panelists, speakers, and experiences. See the schedule of events (below!) to plan your conference experience. Student tickets are FREE.
