Blaydon CC have kindly agreed to host a women-only "come and try" time trial on 26 June 2026.
The event is an opportunity for anybody to come along and have ago at riding a timed 12 mile course on some lovely rural roads in Northumberland. It will be run in support of Newcastle Women's Aid. Newcastle Women’s Aid is a charity run by women for women providing free, specialist advice and support for women and girls in Newcastle and the North East who are affected by domestic abuse.

The only requirements are that you have a road-worthy bike, a helmet and working front and back lights. You don't have to be a member of a club and you can wear whatever you want from a lycra skinsuit to t-shirt and shorts to fancy dress.
We have made an application to the Guinness Book of Records and hope that the event will set a new record for female particiaption in a cycling time trial.
Entry will be £5pp either in advance (details to be announced in January) or on the day.
