About this Event
Important: When you book for this event you are booking for the whole series of workshops
Join us for 4-weeks of music workshops with musician Farzané Zamen to create a group performance for the inaugural Paisley Arts Festival. No experience required.
If you love music, join us to celebrate our stories, rhythms and lived experience. We especially welcome women+ who have moved to Scotland from other countries so we can celebrate and share different musical traditions.
The workshops run in February:
- Introduction (5th February 2026, 3-4pm): get to know each other and choose a song that means something to us to share it with the group
- Rehearsing our chosen song (12th February 2026, 3-4pm): learn the chosen song (translated into English) and learn about other musical traditions
- Co-writing a song (19th February 2026, 3-5pm): create a collaboration song with lyrics and percussion
- Rehearsing our co-written song (26th February 2026, 3-5pm): rehearse the songs ready for the performance
Then we'll perform together, supported by Farzané:
- Performance 1: Friday 6th March, 6pm - International Women's Day Celebration
- Performance 2: Saturday 28th March (tbc) - Paisley Arts Festival
