Recently she started a new Italian community Choir “Lingua Madre” open to all.
Beck Sian - Beck Sian was born in Australia, but with Welsh and Irish blood, it seems only natural that Beck was going to be drawn to all things Celtic – everything from the Celtic artwork and mythology, Druidic reverence for nature and trees, tales of banshees, wraiths and faeries, to the musical instruments and haunting singing-styles.
Beck Sian’s original music is often influenced by the natural environment and folklore surrounding her, as well as the otherworldly and mystical side of things - tales of ghosts and the supernatural are a common lyrical theme, as are her observations of the changing seasons, the weather, atmospheric places… Beck Sian paints soundscapes, and she also loves to paint on canvas and watercolour paper.
Related to English singer Kate Bush, it was her influence and artistic inspiration (as well as having a talented artist for a father) that sparked Beck's own desire to dance, sing and create. Beck Sian.
Freya Josephine Hollick - Freya Josephine Hollick is a singer-songwriter from Victoria who has a distinct identity within the Australian country music genre. Her musical style has been described as cosmic country, but that is merely a label for something that is definitely country music yet absolutely her music: an embrace of the structure of country as a pathway to greater creativity. Hollick writes songs that work on macro and micro scales, and nowhere is that better displayed than on her album, The Real World, which is both a manifesto and an offering of love.
Freya is something of a country siren known for her spellbinding vocals and gritty, poetic storytelling. Freya brings a raw spirit of outlaw country to her performances with perfect pitch, haunting melodies and entrancing lyrics.
Anouk Ely - Melbourne-based Anouk Ely is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter whose music combines delicate acoustic textures with heartfelt lyricism.
Drawing inspiration from her Japanese heritage and artists such as Beabadoobee, Bon Iver, Sally Seltmann, First Aid Kit and Elliott Smith. Anouk teaches choir and gives singing lessons when she's not performing. She recently released her debut album '433'.
She has been writing music all her life with her dad, Ben Ely (Regurgitator) and little sister, Dee Dee Ely. In her childhood home she says songwriting was the same as breathing.
The gig consists of two sets in which each artist will play two songs in a round-robin fashion, sharing their stories in between. In a grand finale, the four artists will join together for an inspiring and popular song, inviting audience participation.
You'll walk away floating on air, uplifted to new heights.
Doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:00.
