About this Event
GWL Voices, a gender and multilateralism advocacy group composed of almost 80 global women leaders, presents its second edition of their flagship report on the state of leadership at multilateral institutions. The report shows that by consistently excluding women from top leadership positions, these institutions no longer reflect the societies they serve. Members of GWL Voices and other experts will discuss the findings of GWL Voices’ flagship report, highlighting organizations leading the way toward gender-equal governance. In addition, they will debate lessons from various approaches to governance reform, highlight upcoming elections in key international institutions that offer an opportunity for change, and explore how such reform could improve the legitimacy and impact of global policy discussions and negotiations.
The Women in Multilateralism Report 2025 has a special spotlight on women in leadership in the global health sector and includes a historic assessment of the number of women appointed Permanent Representatives to the United Nations.
