About this Event
*This event is online only*
Welcome to the second Women in Computing Conference (#WiC24) hosted by The Open University and the Faculty of STEM's School of Computing & Communications!
Over June 21 & 22, we will bring you talks from global leaders in the tech industry. These workshops will inspire and support your educational and career goals, provide networking opportunities, and the chance to meet other students who are also working hard to achieve their goals.
This is an online event so that everyone can engage with the conference. You should be able to watch recordings of any missed sessions about two weeks after the conference has closed.
Day 1 will start with the OU’s Deputy Vice Chancellor Josie Fraser welcoming our keynote speaker, Jacqueline Guichelaar CIO at CISCO.
After lunch, we are delighted that Ana Simion, CEO for INRO London, will be delivering the first of two industry talks. Elizabeth Barr, Head of CISCO Networking Academy and Andrew Smith Senior, Lecturer Computing will be launching the Cisco Cyber Security Women’s Camp during the second of our industry talks. You will then have a choice of workshop for the final session of the day.
Day 2 will begin with John Woodthorpe, Head of School of Computing and Communications welcoming Gillian Arnold, Managing Director Tectre and Chair of the BCS. The rest of the day will offer further workshops and a session by OU Computing and Communication academics sharing some of the exciting and innovative research they’re engaged in.
The full, confirmed agenda will be uploaded to the #WiC24 conference site in the next few weeks
