This will be a really relaxed session, with the Business & IP Centre. It's an opportunity to get back together, maintain or re-establish those core relationships and build new ones.
To celebrate BIPC National Start Up Day we will be holding a special event on this date with Women in Business Tribe - New Era. Women in business event will run from 11.00am - 13.00, so that attendees can also take advantage of the rest of the exciting Start Up Day programme at this location.
Lesley Fettes is joining us to give us her perspective on the use of AI Tools for startup, the solo trader, freelancer and those in small business. In this session, you’ll learn how AI can streamline time-consuming tasks while enhancing creativity, allowing you to focus on growing your business. From structuring blog posts to summarising articles and crafting social media copy, Lesley will share practical AI applications that make your workload lighter and more efficient.
Our second speaker is confirmed as Fiona McGonigle, Business Engagement and Innovation Lead, Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). Join Fiona for ' Unlocking Business Insights ', an engaging and interactive "Business Focus - Lessons Learned from The Room" session, where every voice counts. This unique event goes beyond the traditional speaker format, empowering everyone to contribute insights, share experiences, and engage in lively discussion. Fiona will lead with thought-provoking fresh perspectives and dynamic insights to inspire open exchange—expect a session brimming with new ideas, surprising takeaways, and invaluable business wisdom from across the room. This will be followed by networking, with your peers and the BIPC Team, until13.00.

Lesley Fettes who is an experienced marketing consultant with over 18 years of experience running a successful creative marketing agency. Now working independently, she specialises in helping SMEs without in-house marketing expertise to connect with their target audiences. Lesley’s holistic, hands-on approach ensures that every aspect of her clients’ marketing strategies is tackled with precision, delivering real results.
Beyond marketing, Lesley is the co-founder of Healthy and Happy Hormones that supports midlife women seeking balance by focusing on nutrition, exercise, stress, and sleep management.
Locally, Lesley teaches kettlebell classes in Cambridge, sharing her passion for fitness with an inspiring group of women.

Fiona McGonigle is a seasoned professional with extensive experience across Regional Government, Further and Higher Education, and consultancy in Workforce Transformation. Having held pivotal roles at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority, the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP, and Cambridge Regional College. Fiona is currently serving as the Business Engagement and Innovation Lead at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).
A regular speaker at prominent events, in 2023 she chaired a panel at the Women in Business & Technology Show at Excel, London, hosted by Baroness Karren Brady. Fiona is also the Founder of We Are GLOBAL Women, an initiative that champions the UN Global Sustainability Goals (SDGs) with a focus on gender equality, sustainability and women’s achievements worldwide. She established and chairs the Agri-Food Tech & Sustainability Consortium, launched at COP26. She is a United Nations (UN) UK Women Advocate and is a Think Tank Entrepreneur and Committee Partner for Women on Boards CIC.
