About this Event
Like a fire, community needs tending to – and it can't be kept alone.
I am convinced that community is not a feeling.
It is vital to our wellbeing, and yet there is widespread confusion around what community actually is. Community is non-profitable, and still it is increasingly being marketed.
As people, we are no longer tending a fire that requires each of us to take a place around it. Modern life feeds us the illusion that community and interdependence are optional. Our cities and neighbourhoods are not designed around the value of community. Patriarchal and capitalist structures, shaped by work and consumerism, have pushed community to the outskirts of our lives, rather than building upon it as a foundation and a shared resource.
The longing for community can be excruciating, and yet we are rarely taught how to build sustainable webs of connection—
webs that are able to weather the storms of life, and that can hold us through the different seasons we move through.
On this evening, we will reflect and gently explore what community means to each of us, and what it might take—for ourselves and for our communities, whether already existing or still emerging—to thrive and flourish.
We will reflect, share, chat and relax.
If this resonates, you are warmly invited to come.
Brief structure of the evening:
- opening through a short meditation, sharing
- introduction into the topic
- sharing and active listening in circle
- gentle closing together
Please wear whatever clothes you feel comfortable to sit in.
Tea and snacks (vegan & gluten free) will be there for you.
To acknowledge beforehand:
- Arriving on time can support a gentle landing for yourself and protects the container of the group. For this reason, the door will be closed at 6:40 pm. If this feels challenging for you, please consider whether this timing works for you.
- As a facilitator I hold the intention of offering a space that is as safe and respectful as possible. I invite each participant to stay connected to their own boundaries, needs, and capacities, so that we can co-create a circle where trust and honesty may grow.
- The circle will be held in English or German, according to the languages of the women attending. Regardless of that: if it feels more natural for you to share in German, you are welcome to do so at any time.

About the facilitator:
Hey! My name is Lea, I am a nature- and creativity-inclined person (the second of which made me pursue a degree in fashion design). My intention in holding these circles is to create a space where women can come together to share stories and wisdom from our diverse and complex lives. In my own experience, these protected containers have been deeply nourishing and have supported me in unlearning certain patterns of relating to other women that can stand in the way of authentic connection.
As of now I am devoted to creating projects that are aligned with the natural world — both within ourselves and around us.
Therefore the themes of the circle (which are meant as gentle impulses) will be influenced by fields such as systemic psychology, ecopsychology, and the ecofeminist heroine’s journey, among others.
These influences support my intention to collaboratively move toward a thriving life that is rooted in place and community.
