Women’s Marksmanship Clinic
Build confidence and competence on the range in a supportive, women-only environment. This session starts in the SPFGA Clubhouse and then head to the 50 m range.
What we’ll cover
- Firearm fundamentals and safety briefing in the Clubhouse.
 - Basic ballistics for sighting in at distance
 - How to bore-sight a firearm in the field (hands-on demo)
 - Practice using the EcoAim optical rifle
 - Live-fire on the 50 m range with .22 rimfire (scoped), 30-30 lever-action, TJ's 9mm semi-automatic handgun, and potentially shooting clay targets at the Shotgun Range.
 
Who this is for
All skill levels welcome from complete beginners to shooters wanting to refresh sighting and fundamental skills for women only.
What to bring
- Hearing and eye protection (if you have them)
 - Appropriate eye-covering (safety glasses/goggles) and closed-toe shoes
 - If you have a PAL, any personal firearms and ammunition you prefer to use (optional), otherwise we’ll provide instructor firearms and guidance.
 - Snacks/water
 
Safety
Safety is our top priority. A full safety brief and range rules will be reviewed before any handling or live-fire.
 Our Woman's Marksmanship session will be taught by TJ Kliparchuk, owner of the Alberta Outdoors Academy.With a background in conservation enforcement, TJ is a seasoned outdoorsman and educator who has spent decades refining his skills, so you don’t have to learn the hard way. He’s been fishing since the age of three and hunting since eight, with over 20 years of backwoods camping experience.
TJ is a certified hunting instructor, Canadian Firearms Safety Course instructor, shotgun coach, range officer, and former television personality on several outdoor shows. His expertise spans tracking and blood trailing, whitetail and predator behaviour, fishing techniques, marksmanship, and conservation practices.
Passionate about sharing knowledge, TJ helps people build the confidence and skills they need to truly enjoy the outdoors.
