For professionals working with adults & young people that may experience gambling harms/need financial wellbeing support-Wolverhampton area.About this Event
Gambling related harm impacts many families across the country, including in Wolverhampton. Often harms are identified too late or not at all, and people affected are left feeling alone and that they are to blame. Sadly hundreds of people take their lives every year because of gambling.
Chapter One prevention programmes provide information, training and support, formed and informed by people with lived experience.
The City of Wolverhampton Council have commissioned the charity to deliver a training programme for professionals who may encounter adults at risk of/experiencing gambling harm. The training will give participants knowledge, confidence, skills and resources to prevent gambling-related harms and support those affected. Additionally, it will explore practical ways to support financial wellbeing. It will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to identify risk, offer support, and promote healthier financial behaviours.
This programme is free and will be delivered in person or online. This is the booking link for in-person training at Bob Jones Community Hub for professionals working with Adults and Young People.
Please be aware that the training will reference forms of gambling and shows images and audio of gambling related activity. It will also discuss levels of harm up to and including suicide. There are safeguarding procedures in place to ensure delegates safety is paramount.
