We are delighted to return to the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook to present our next concert of popular orchestral music for a summer's evening. Join us in welcoming BBC Music Magazine 'Rising Star' conductor, Harry Sever, for his first performance with Wolsey Orchestra. Our concert begins with Weber's dramatic overture to his opera, Der Freischütz, followed by Dvořák's lyrical Serenade for Wind in D Minor which bursts with brightness and optimism. We finish the evening with Brahms's beautiful and melodic masterpiece, his Symphony No 4. The symphony was inspired by his musical heroes, in particular Bach and Beethoven and - of the finale - Brahms wrote "How it thunders!". This titanic work is as stunning today as when it was first performed 140-years ago.
