In a very special AWP offsite gathering, Wednesday Night Poetry, the longest running consecutive weekly open mic series in the country, convenes at an incredible and iconic space--The East Angel, in the heart of the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles! Come read a poem and kick off AWP with friends! This is a soft and SAFE SPACE to land. Doors will open at 5:30pm for socializing.
Open Mic style. One poem per poet, 3-4 min, any theme. Poets will read from 6:30-10:30pm. Come to share a poem, stay for community and togetherness. Wine and refreshments will be provided.
The East Angel is located 4.2 miles away from the Los Angeles Convention Center, a 10 minute drive, depending on LA traffic. It is 20 miles from LAX if you are coming directly from your flight. Ride-share, Uber, Lyft, carpooling is highly encouraged. Save money! Be safe!
