About this Event
WMD/Mass Casualty Incident Exercise Design Training
This course will offer incident response personnel the insight and tools needed to design, implement, and facilitate panoramic scenario-based training exercises designed to mitigate and control risk from a multitude of threats. Curriculum, practical exercises, and simulated training will include everything from choosing venues, agents, objectives, simulated samples, inject timing, and more. Upon completing this course, participants will have the knowledge and skill set to design and conduct professional, high quality, WMD training exercises that can be modified and duplicated with on-demand frequency.
Description: We live in a world where weapons of mass destruction are a real and present-day threat to our way of life. The potential use of chemical, biological, or improvised nuclear weapons is a real-world threat to our communities and presents a tax upon the personnel and resources of effected local, state, and federal agencies. The best way to mitigate risk and reduce catastrophic impact is to train consistently with real-world simulation. Testing, training, predicting, and responding to outcomes in a safe, controlled environment without the risks or cost of a live situation improves assessment and reactionary response time. Additionally, many operators find that learning to plan exercises greatly increases the ability to perform in training, evaluation, and real-world events.
Target audience: Law enforcement, firefighters, first responders, emergency management agencies, and military.
