With My Patrick Cox's On
Emma, a high-achieving mid-life woman, meets Mattias in a hotel room. But who is Mattias? Why is Emma meeting him there? And what hold does he have over her? As the play unfolds, we learn about Emma’s life through a series of flashbacks which take her from: a naïve teenager in awe of her beautiful and charismatic best friend; a playful twenty-something raver in the 1990s; the wife of a successful architect; her attempts to become a mother; and her career as a University Lecturer in Brutalist architecture. As the play unfolds, we find out what has led to her to the room and the difficult choices they both have to make which will shape their lives and the lives of those around them. Part coming of age story, part love story, part whole life journey, and part love poem to the 1990s, With My Patrick Cox's On is about living your life unashamedly on your own terms.
This Work in Progress Performance will be the first time the play has been performed in public.
