Bad Gal Film Club presents a Women’s History Month special screening of Elizabeth Sankey’s intimate documentary Witches. Exploring the connections between postpartum mental health and the portrayal of witches in Western society and popular culture, Sankey intertwines her personal experiences with historical and cinematic footage—while creating a new coven of women to reclaim their stories.

Described as an “impressive study of postpartum psychosis recovery” by The Guardian, Sankey unravels the social stigmas that women have endured across centuries through moving interviews and vividly illustrative film clips.
