Our Vision

The "Wisdom of the Mothers" symposium envisions a world where the wisdom of matrilineal and matriarchal spiritual traditions is recognized, celebrated, and integrated into contemporary society. By creating an interdisciplinary and inclusive platform, the symposium seeks to inspire individuals and communities to honor these traditions, foster greater understanding across cultures, and apply their timeless teachings to address modern challenges. This vision aspires to spark a renewed appreciation for the vital role of matriarchal wisdom in building a more compassionate, equitable, and spiritually connected world.

She is the author of Witches and Pagans: Women in European Folk Culture, 700-1100 and Women in Greek Mythography: Pythias, Melissae and Titanides. Her forthcoming book, Magna Mater, Paulianity, and the Imperial Church, looks at church-state authoritarianism and persecutions.
