From Cassettes to Continents
The early days were quiet and ordinary. Two faithful volunteers recorded sermons on cassette tapes and typed transcripts by hand. That hidden work preserved Stephen's teaching and prepared the way for everything that followed.
Then came an open door. The president of Trans World Radio invited Stephen to produce a daily radio program. After prayer, Stephen and Marsha said yes. In 2001, Wisdom for the Heart aired for the first time from a transmitter in Bath, England. One broadcast decision began a global journey.
A few years later, the Bible Broadcasting Network began airing the program on hundreds of stations across North America. Stephen still recalls the day of the very first broadcast. When the program ended, he wanted to personally answer the first listener phone call. The phone rang on cue, but it was a wrong number. The humor did not last long. In the days and weeks ahead, thousands of listeners wrote in to express gratitude, and many began supporting the program financially.
Behind the scenes, Marsha turned the bonus room of the Davey home into Wisdom’s headquarters. Surrounded by boxes, postage supplies, and duplicating machines, she filled every order by hand and tucked a thank-you card into each package. She also wrote the very first letter to an inmate who responded to the broadcast. Today, that Pr*son ministry reaches more than 100,000 inmates who listen daily, many writing back to share their testimony.
What started in a bonus room had crossed an ocean. God was building something only He could build.
A Voice in Every Language
Stephen's heart for the nations pressed the ministry outward. The Bible Broadcasting Network translated his teaching into Spanish for audiences across South America. Portuguese followed, then Mandarin. Through faithful partnerships, Wisdom expanded into Arabic, Swahili, Hindi, and Telugu.
Today, by God's grace, Wisdom International serves audiences in thirteen languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Swahili, Arabic, Telugu, Hindi, Kirundi, Korean, Italian, French, and Russian. Listeners and readers access teaching through radio, podcasts, video, and written resources, all offered freely. As we track website visits, we see traffic from every country on earth.
In January 2022, Wisdom launched a new daily program called The Wisdom Journey. This fifteen-minute teaching guides listeners through all sixty-six books of the Bible in three years. The program is offered in both audio and video, and its launch marked a season of growth so significant that Wisdom for the Heart was renamed Wisdom International to reflect the expanded global scope.
Earlier this year, we launched our first daily television program. The Arabic edition of The Wisdom Journey now airs on satellite TV across the Arabic-speaking world. New language technology is opening doors faster than ever before.

One Ministry, Many Tools
Wisdom International shares a global teaching vision with Stephen Davey, The Shepherd's Church, and Shepherds Theological Seminary. Each ministry serves a distinct purpose. Together they carry one message: the unchanging truth of God's Word.
Wisdom International operates as its own ministry, with an independent budget and Board of Directors. Support comes entirely from a listening family of partners across the country whose faithful giving funds the production, translation, and distribution of Bible teaching worldwide. This model keeps every resource free and accessible to listeners around the globe.

The Next Chapter
We move forward with confidence and humility. The mission has not changed. New listeners are searching for truth. New languages are in progress. The same commitments guide every step ahead.
Earlier this year, Wisdom International moved into our first global headquarters. For the first time in twenty-five years, we have a home of our own. The new building houses offices for our seven local staff members, a state-of-the-art recording studio, a gathering space, and a fulfillment center for our online store. Nine additional team members serve from across the country and around the world.
Our focus stays simple. Teach Scripture clearly. Trust God fully. Serve the world faithfully.
