An Enchanting Evening of Regency Dance, Music, and Winter Cheer!
Step out of the winter blues and into the warmth of Regency elegance with Laughing With Lizzie. A Ball for All Seasons: Wintertide promises an unforgettable evening of graceful dancing, live cello music, and a sumptuous hot buffet – all set within the historic Purley Barn, Reading.
Both new and experienced dancers are warmly welcome, and Regency dress is strongly encouraged to complete the atmosphere (but not compulsory.)
Doors will open at 6:00pm, giving you time to arrive, settle in, and enjoy a warming welcome drink before the dancing begins. The ball itself will start at 6:30pm, so we encourage you to arrive in good time to make the most of the evening.

Regency Dances with Libby Curzon
Let Libby Curzon of Mrs Bennet’s Ballroom lead you through the dances of the Regency period. Whether you are an experienced dancer or stepping onto the floor for the very first time, Libby’s guidance will ensure everyone feels confident as we dance the night away in true Austen style.
Cello Music by Florence Petit-Sibley
Enjoy a beautiful live cello performance, adding grace and atmosphere to the evening’s dancing and celebration.
Supper and Refreshments
Taking inspiration from the Regency era, you will enjoy a hot buffet prepared by Oh My Nosh Catering, accompanied by a glass of wine or soft drink, and followed by scrumptious desserts.
We’re delighted that Charlotte Atkinson will also be joining us, creating live watercolour illustrations throughout the evening (available to purchase at an additional cost).
A variety of non-alcoholic drinks will also be provided to keep you refreshed throughout the evening.
(Please note there is no bar available, but you are welcome to bring additional drinks of your choice if desired.)

On the same day as the ball, join a special workshop with Abigail Rose of Abigail Rose Creative. Learn to craft a bouquet of paper roses made from the pages of Jane Austen’s novels – a beautiful keepsake and perfect nod to Austen’s enduring charm.
