About this Event
Winter Village Music Camp is a fun and inspiring winter weekend of learning, listening and making music together in a friendly and welcoming setting. The camp is designed for musicians and offers nearly one hundred workshops on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, bass, ukulele, singing, and songwriting, offered in a variety of styles including Bluegrass, Old Time, Irish, New England, Cajun, Scandinavian, Swing, Folk and Americana. Our faculty is comprised of touring professional performers along with many of Ithaca’s fine teacher-performers, including Rachel Eddy, Emily Miller & Jesse Milnes, Judy Hyman, Kevin Wimmer, Louise Bichan & Ethan Setiaway, Quinn Bachand & Natalie Padilla, the Clements Brothers, Eli Gilbert, Richie Stearns, Austin Scelzo, Joey Arcuri, Dave Davies, Tim Ball, Tenzin Chopak, Laura Hart, Benny Bleu, Perry Cleaveland, Maria Gillard, Paul Fairbanks, and Rick Manning. In addition to workshops, the camp offers jamming at all experience levels and styles, and three great faculty concerts - an opening concert on Thursday evening, a Saturday Night Camp All-Faculty Concert, and a closing concert on Sunday evening. Whether playing on the front porch or the performance stage, Winter Village offers musicians the tools to play better, practice more effectively, enhance performance skills to help you share your love for music with others.
For those who have attended past Winter Village Camps, please note that Winter Village is moving from our host of 14 years, La Tourelle, to downtown Ithaca with accommodations at the Canopy Hotel and workshops and performances at the Community School of Music & Arts. We are excited about the move and look forward to sharing all that downtown Ithaca has to offer to our guests and visitors.
