About this Event
In the stunning surroundings of Bradfield Woods, discover how to identify trees and shrubs in winter by studying their twig structure, buds and location among other indicators.
There will be an indoor session followed by a guided walk through this ancient woodland learning how to put your ID skills into practice and with plenty of time to collect twigs and build up your own labelled collection. Back in the class room, you will have the chance to check your specimens using different books and keys and discover how different resources can help you.
Andrew Holtham is a tree enthusiast and the author of a Winter Guide to the Common Trees of Hertfordshire. Copies of Andrew's book will be available to purchase for cash on the day.
