About this Event
Come along and create your own unique tile using the traditional process of tubelining. Using a clay slip to create an outline you then infill your pattern with beautiful coloured glazes (although they will be mostly grey on the day!).
Tile workshop charge is £15 per person (including a £1.63 booking fee), this includes all you need to decorate one 6 inch square tile, these dates have been given longer sessions, so relax and enjoy spending your time making your tile, or even purchase additional tiles on the day, if you wish.
Eventbrite's booking fees are non refundable once your order is placed.
Workshops can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the event. After this time we sadly are unable to offer a refund on the workshop cost.
Once your tiles are finished they are dried before being fired to 1030 degrees. This usually takes around a week and a half, but can take longer at busy times.
It normally takes around an hour and a half to decorate your tile (but can take between 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity of the design). Please arrive as close to the start of the session as possible.
Please book for all those decorating tiles (children and/or adults) to ensure we have equipment ready for you, each group will also have space for non tile makers provided, very young children will need help with the tubelining itself. Extra tiles can be purchased on the day if required, for £15, subject to availability.
You can collect your tiles from the Jackfield Tile Museum shop once we have contacted you to advise they are fired, but if you are not local we offer a postage service too, charged at £5.50, for up to 4 tiles together and is payable by card/cash on the day, please allow up to 28 days for delivery.
There is no need to physically print your 'tickets', we will have all your details, just surname and email adress for reference on the day is fine.
We are located in the courtyard of the Jackfield Tile Museum and Parking is available on the Tile Museum site (£1 per hour, max charge £5, prices correct at time of publication).
As stated above, we regret that it will not be possible to refund your workshop charge if you do not attend on the day.
