Winter Solstice Walk & Social

Welcome to our annual Winter Solstice Walk! Join us for sunset of the longest night of the year, and contemplate what you might leave behind in that darkness (metaphorically) to emerge changed in the new year as light returns.

We'll meet at the corner of Candler Park Drive and North Avenue, walk and talk through Freedom Park to a hill by Moreland Avenue, hold a scripted and community sharing ceremony using some nifty LED candles, and walk back with our newfound light. You'll get to socialize and share about your life, whether this is your first assembly experience or you're a longtime member.

Please note that we will start walking at 5PM sharp! We're on a cosmic calendar that doesn't wait for us, so we gotta go (no hard feelings). Come early and chat with us.

Stay afterward for food, games, and fun! After the walk, we'll reconvene for food, board games, and conversation at First Existentialist Congregation at 470 Candler Park Drive. Parking is plentiful along the street. The venue is wheelchair accessible via a ramp and has a bathroom in the foyer.

What To Bring

Grab a jacket, gloves, and maybe some rain gear if it looks wet that day. Feel free to bring a flashlight for if our walks get a little too dark by the end. Finally, bring a reflection on what you'd like to leave behind!

Assemblies, and the events around them, are open to the public and free to attend!

What's Sunday Assembly?

The Sunday Assembly is a life-celebrating congregation without deity, dogma, or doctrine. Our motto: Live Better, Help Often, Wonder More. Our mission: to help everyone find and fulfill their full potential. Read more info about us on our website: sundayassemblyatlanta.org/about(https://sundayassemblyatlanta.org/about/)

Stay in Touch!

Meetup is the best place to see all of our events, but we're all over the interwebs. Make sure to check out our Facebook group(https://www.facebook.com/groups/SundayAssemblyAtlanta) and page. If you've got questions, comments, or want to stay informed, we've got all our links on our contact page: sundayassemblyatlanta.org/contact(https://sundayassemblyatlanta.org/contact/)

We'll see you at this upcoming assembly!
