About this Event
Join us on Sunday the 21st of December to celebrate the Winter Solstice. This day marks mid-winter with the longest night and shortest day and is the turning point as we start to head back towards the light. A moment in the year to pause, gather and nourish ourselves.
Wrapped up warm we will gather at dawn around the campfire to welcome in the light. Leah Sian Davies will lead us on a sensory walk, taking in the delights of winter in Bute Park.
Along the way we will share a winter solstice ritual, crafting our North star to celebrate the year that has passed and setting our wishes for the year to come.
Our walk will end back at the Secret Garden Cafรฉ for a seasonal breakfast and warming hot drink. The breakfast will showcase the best of winter produce. It will nourish you and sing of the joys this time of year can bring.
You will be held in a safe nurturing space, where we will take the time to pause, notice, listen and appreciate winter, as well as welcoming the turning point within the season.
- Meet at The Blackwier bridge 7.30am (exact location will be shared on booking).
- It will be a gentle stroll, but do let us know if you have any walking difficulties.
- Wrap up warm, think cosy vibes with a hat, scarf, gloves and thick socks.
- Breakfast will be served at the cafe at 9.30am.
- Your breakfast will be veggie. Please let us know if you are vegan or have any food allergies.
- Please bring 1 tree decoration with you and your reusable cup.
We can't wait to celebrate the winter solstice with you.
