Join us for a magical evening honoring an ancient celestial event. ☕️ Complementary Wassail or Solstice tea
✨Somatic ritual
📝 Guided journaling for release
🔥 Burning bowl to release
The sun felt like it slowly died in the sky. Days are shorter and nights longer. But on the solstice, our life force, our energy source, the sun is born again. The days grow longer and there is promise our crops will grow again— that we will once again feel the summer light on our skin, warming and comforting. It is a relief.
The sun triumphing over the darkness and cold is something to celebrate. Ancient people around the world thought so. This time was deeply transformative for ancient peoples as it symbolized rebirth and the cyclic nature in which they lived, loved, and died by the Earth and the Sun.
Now, as modern people, we may honor our ancestors and the ancient celestial bodies that we coexist with by taking intentional time to release things that no longer serve us. This is the point in the year where we can intentionally end personal cycles whether these are internal or external. We must take time to honor the death of these cycles as death is a scared and necessary part of all life.
Light always returns.
And so may yours. ✨
What is “wassail”?
Wassail / waes hál meant “be healthy” in Old English. It is a blessing, a wish for your community when drinking from a communal bowl. The wassail is a mix of mulling spices in an apple cider, served warm.
An alternative solstice tea will be for purchase with the tea house.
Somatic Ritual
Our bodies are not just vessels that hold our mind and spirit— it is a magical instrument. Whether or not you are a believer in the magical intent of this event, somatic therapy has been used for decades to help the body process trauma and digest the inner workings of our subconscious mind.
Please wear all black.
We will have a sun and moon character to imitate the celestial cycle. And you will act as our darkness of the winter months.
Please expect clear education and guidance during this group ritual.
This will be followed by guided journaling and a burning pit for releasing old habits, insecurities, and obsessions.
