Okines Community House along with Dodges Ferry Primary School & South East Arts Tasmania Inc. invite you to join us for the annual Winter Solstice Lantern Parade 2026!Bring your friends, family and lanterns to help us celebrate the Winter Solstice by lighting up the night and joining in the parade!
🔥There will be delicious hot food & drinks for sale as well as a bonfire, choir performance, shadow puppets, light art as well! The theme this year is 'Enchanted Wetlands' and fancy dress is strongly encouraged! Remember to dress warm and BYO mugs, torches and lanterns.
🔥The parade will start at approximately 5:30pm and will go around the loop track.
🚗We encourage people to walk or bike to the event as parking is limited.
South East Arts Tasmania Inc. will also be hosting a series of FREE Light Art Workshops at Okines in the lead up to this year's parade. There will be:
🏮Silhouette Light Boxes with Michelle Pears:
Friday June 5th 10:30am - 1:30pm &
Monday June 8th 10:30am - 1:30pm

We are also looking for volunteers who can help out with Food Prep, the Food & Drink Stalls, Traffic Wardens, Set up, Pack down & Photography. If you can help at all, we'd love to hear from you!
