The Sanctuary of Hekate Dadouchos and The Temple of the Hallowed Gods IN are hosting a Winter Solstice Celebration 🔥As the Sun's light is reborn in our cosmos, so too do we rebirth ourselves during this season of renewal.
In this celebration, we will call upon Hekate in her forms of Eileithyia (nurse of childbirth/midwife) and Dadouchos (the Torchbearer) to help us bring forth our individual "lights" and Apotropaia (the averter/Protector) to protect those "lights" through the cold, dark winter.
We will also evoke Pan, the God of music, the lover of merry noise (Krotos-loving) and He who listens to prayer (Epikoos) to help us celebrate the season! So bring your noise makers, whistles, hand drums or simple clap your hands, as Pan is said to be heard and not seen.... ✨️👏
To bring...
* A love-donation of $5-10 or what you can afford for the building. No funds? no problem! Come anyway!
* An offering for each Deity. Simple is perfect. If you need ideas, just ask... for do your research ;)
* A dish to share for the after-ritual gathering. Finger foods are often easiest!
* If you're able, a donation to the Food and/or Toy Drive! We'll be spreading the help around Indy and Greencastle, for free boxes and those in need.
Newcomers and solo practitioners welcome! Or, bring a friend! We don't mind.
Please note - all participants should be 18 years of age or older. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our rituals aren't always suited to the attention spans of young children, but please contact the organizer with any questions should you want to bring any young ones. :)
