On the longest night of the year, we gather not only to honor the turning of the season, but to remember what has always sustained us: community. We begin with a community potluck at 5:00 PM. Everyone is asked to bring a dish — something small, something simple, something from the heart. In a time when vital resources like food stamps and community aid are being stripped away, we return to the truth our ancestors lived by: when everyone brings a little, everyone has more than enough. This potluck is an act of mutual care, nourishment, and solidarity.
If you’re in a position where bringing food feels overwhelming, I have a list of local food pantries available. No shame, no judgment, no questions asked. You are welcome here.
At 7:00 PM, we transition into a Winter Solstice sound bath themed “Descending into Mother Earth’s Womb.”
Together, we soften into the rhythm of winter — the descent, the stillness, the fertile dark where the new year begins to take shape. Through sound and rest, we honor the cycle of release, renewal, and rebirth that the Solstice carries.
Schedule
• 5:00 PM — Community Potluck (everyone brings a dish)
• 7:00 PM — Winter Solstice Sound Bath ($10)
• 9:00 PM — Closing
This gathering is for all of us. Bring a dish if you can. Bring yourself regardless.
On the darkest night of the year, we remember that community is what makes the light return.
