Explore, discover, learn and embrace winter during the inaugural Winter Play Day, an official Saint Paul Winter Carnival event. A variety of family-friendly outdoor activities will be offered. Representatives from local organizations will be on hand to help attendees try out equipment, learn helpful tips and ensure safe participation, including:
- Guided hikes and outdoor photography sessions with National Park Service Rangers
- Birding with Urban Bird Collective
- Winter Sound Garden hosted by Wavelets Creative
- Fat tire biking with Melanin in Motion
- S’mores along the Mississippi River
- Special appearance by Smokey Bear and the USDA Forest Service
- Traditional winter activities with Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi
- An opportunity to learn about the future River Learning Center from the design team
- Exploring incredible outdoor adventure trips with Wilderness Inquiry
