Ready to embrace the magic of winter hiking—but not totally sure where to start? Join us for Winter Hiking 101, designed for women who want to feel confident, capable, and excited to hit the trails this season.This event includes an overview of winter hiking essentials and safety, necessary gear, and a guided 2-3 mile beginner-friendly winter hike.

Cost ($30) includes:
❄️ Microspikes/traction devices for use during the hike
❄️ Winter hiking, safety and gear instruction
❄️ Guided hike (1.5 hrs)
What to expect:
❄️ Gear instruction & winter hiking/safety orientation
❄️ 2-3 mile hike at a relaxed pace with breaks (1.5 hours)
What to wear/bring:
❄️ Water-resistant or waterproof boots
❄️ Synthetic layers (avoid cotton): moisture-wicking base layer, insulating middle layer and waterproof outer layer
❄️ Hat, gloves, and scarf
❄️ Sun protection
❄️ Water bottle or hydration pack
❄️ Trekking poles (optional)
Where to meet:
Meet at the steps of the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center at 2120 S Cheyenne Canyon Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906. Please note that this event takes place entirely outdoors (we are not meeting inside the Starsmore Center).
