It celebrates the growing of fruit trees and the preservation of heritage varieties. The festival includes:
- The opportunity to purchase many rare and heritage fruit trees and fruiting plants from our nursery to add to your collection
- All day demonstrations of tree grafting
- A presentation showing how to prune fruit trees
- A talk about the importance of bees and how we can help them flourish
- A river walk
- A guided tour of the orchard to share the ongoing journey of replanting, maintenance and helping the orchard and the heritage varieties to thrive
- The opportunity to purchase scions (a living shoot or bud cut from one plant and grafted to rootstock of another plant) of many heritage varieties, including apple, pear, nashi, peach, nectarine, cherry, apricot, jap plum and euro plum
- Live music
- Blacksmith demonstration
- A community garden
- A wide range of exhibitors
- A coffee van
- A range of different foods available for purchase
- Face painting & crafts available for the kids
- The chance to taste a range of different products made with the fruit from our orchard
