To ensure that this event is accessible and enjoyable, we have put a number of provisions in place to help every child feel comfortable and able to join in, should they wish to, including holding the discos over two evenings so each one is less crowded.
What to expect:
- A quieter breakout room will be available throughout the event, with an adult present to help support the children. This space will offer a calm environment with cushions, books and colouring activities for any children who need a short break from the disco atmosphere
- If your child uses ear defenders and would find them helpful, they are welcome to bring them along (please ensure they are clearly labelled with their name)
- A copy of the disco playlist will be made available in advance on request to help children feel more familiar with the music beforehand
- For children who may find it difficult transitioning into a busy environment, we can arrange for them to arrive 10-15 minutes early to get used to the space and meet the adults who will be supporting the event.
For children who may find a busy pick-up overwhelming, we can also arrange for them to wait in the quieter breakout room and be collected by their parents from there instead
Please let us know if an early drop off or quieter pick up would be helpful for your child
• Towards the end of the disco, we will play two or three quieter songs with no flashing lights so those children who prefer dancing in a quieter setting get the opportunity to dance with their friends and wind down before the end of the event
We hope these arrangements will help all of the children feel included and excited to celebrate.
