Rachel Osherow is a versatile vocalist and licensed, board-certified music therapist whose work spans jazz, early music, pop, and global vocal traditions. A graduate of Cleveland State University’s Music Therapy program, she brings a deep understanding of musical expression and emotional connection to both her performances and her therapeutic practice.
With a voice described as transcendent and soothing, Osherow performs with a wide range of artists and ensembles, including Angie Haze, JT’s Electrik Blackout, and her own project, Rachel Osherow & The Hangout. She has also performed with the Akron Symphony Chorus, Italian folk ensemble Alla Boara, and Grammy(R) Award-winning baroque orchestra, Apollo’s Fire. Osherow recently made her community theatre debut at Weathervane Playhouse as Bonnie in Come From Away and as an ensemble member in RENT.
Recognized as a "natural storyteller," Osherow’s artistry extends beyond the concert stage. She works in diverse therapeutic settings, serving adolescents in behavioral health and older adults with dementia through culturally responsive music therapy interventions. Osherow looks forward to the release of her first EP in the Spring of 2026.
Whether performing, collaborating, or healing through music, Rachel Osherow continues to be an expressive and impactful voice in the region’s creative landscape.
Concert in partnership with Rubber City Jazz and Blues Festival and sponsored by Cascade Subaru.
