Join us for a hands-on exploration of the beauty and transformation of monarch butterflies in this two-part creative science workshop at the Insect Asylum!
Led by , a master of ethical preservation and naturalistic art, you'll be guided through both portions of the experience with expertise, care, and a passion for the hidden wonders of the insect world.
🌱 Part 1: Chrysalis Intention Vial Making (1-2 pm)
Create a unique miniature intention vial using home raised monarch chrysalis molts, milkweed, final instar caterpillar molts, and other organic elements connected to the monarch’s lifecycle. This nature-infused keepsake is perfect for those drawn to metamorphosis, symbolism, and mindful crafting which is guided by Domingo and thier Memento Monarca Zine.
🦋 Part 2: Monarch Butterfly Pinning (2:30-3:30 pm)
Learn the fundamentals of butterfly pinning and preservation as you work hands-on with your own sustainably sourced monarch specimen. You'll take home a beautifully pinned butterfly.
