Some books are about wine. Others let the wine speak for itself. Echoes of the Land: Winemakers of Portugal, published in 2025, belongs to the second kind.
Colombian-born Vivian Bibliowicz first came to Portugal in 2017, invited by Wines of Portugal. What started as a journalistic assignment became an obsession. By 2020, she had moved here for good.
The result: beautiful 192 pages on Japanese paper, travelling the country from north to south — families with centuries of tradition, young winemakers redefining the future, cooperatives sustaining entire communities.
Photography, text and terroir in what may well be the most complete portrait of Portuguese wine ever made — with a foreword by Josep Roca, sommelier of El Celler de Can Roca.
