Join us for one weekend each month for a deep dive into one of the amazing grapes that goes into making our award-winning line up of delicious wines! Wine Academy Weekend is a self-guided exploration that will outline the historical context, pairing possibilities, common tasting notes, and structure of each featured grape – as well as a look into the winemaking styles employed here at Whitewater Hill Vineyards as we transform this gorgeous fruit.
Wine Academy Weekend will run from 10 am to 5:45 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and you are welcome to arrive any time within that three-day period. Receive an interactive packet to take home with you, a delicious glass of the featured wine, and continue to expand your knowledge about the wonderful world of wine. Though many of these grapes have centuries of tradition throughout the world, their role in Colorado wine presents unique opportunities to investigate what Colorado terroir and adventurous winemaking can bring to these grapes. We will also cover some non-European grapes that are finding their way into the Colorado wine scene, are particularly well-suited to our austere conditions, and require a whole new repertoire of techniques during harvest and fermentation. Join us on the journey of Colorado wine, a dynamic and constantly shifting landscape on the frontier of winemaking with deep roots in community, tradition, and science.
