Windermere Science Festival is returning to Windermere Jetty Museum on 9–10 May 2026! Join us for an action-packed weekend overflowing with STEAM-inspired activities, mind-blowing science shows and hands-on workshops for all ages.This year’s line-up includes Science Rapper Jon Chase, who will explore the science behind dinosaurs in his hit show The Science of Jurassic World, uncovering the facts behind the blockbuster films through rap.
Ever wondered how meteorologists predict the weather? The Met Office will be unveiling the mystery — and you can even try your hand at presenting your own weather forecast!
Feeling adventurous? Join ecologists on a canoe safari to learn about the science of volcanoes. Please note this activity requires booking a separate ticket.
The festival’s iconic Big Float will be back on Sunday 10 May, where you can design, build and test a full-sized cardboard boat on the lake with your team.
Attendees are encouraged to get creative and come dressed in sci-fi inspired costumes – the more imaginative, the better!
Festival entry included with museum admission. Get your admission ticket here. Lakeland Arts Members and Annual Pass holders go free. Please note some activities are an additional cost.
