Raised by a New York family and getting gigs in the city as early as age 17, Willy Soul's hustle has always been influenced by funky music and the big apple, especially Brooklyn.
Playing beats, breaks, and acid on his Roland TR-8S, he is one third of the club-funk trio, The Velvet Groove Squad, featuring Aquiles Navarro [International Anthem/Funky Seshwa] on trumpet, and Markis Black [Roy Ayers Band/Funky Seshwa] on the keys.
He has thrown and DJed parties around the world as a music programmer, and is an A&R for Studio 54's new record label, where he signed tracks by friends and fam: Jitwam, Folamour, TEYMORI, Norman Doray, Piem, and Life On Planets.
